Seniors studying studio art have spent all year working on capstone projects in disciplines that include printmaking, photography, painting, and sculpture. This show serves as the culmination of their studies. An exhibition catalogue containing images, artists’ statements, and analyses of works in the show written by students in AR356: Writing Art Criticism will also be available.
Works by Bennett Allen, Matt Calarco, Cen Yuzhou, Isabel Colón, Jake Conterato, Eli Decker, Alex Dorion, Aisling Flaherty, Natasha Gallagher, Emily Garza, Charlie Gomprecht, Carter Hall, Matthew Jones, Scott Kaplan, Austin Lee, Lexie Liu, Marla Montoya, Ellie Wright, Chang Zhang.
In a typical year these works would be displayed in the Davis Gallery at the Colby Museum, but this year has been anything but typical. Over the last few months the nineteen members of the senior cohort—our largest group in recent years—have adapted resiliently and still produced impressive culminating bodies of work. Congratulations, class of 2020! Your hard work and creativity inspire us all.
