Hidden Histories: A Project by Maggie Libby
October 16, 2012 - November 25, 2012
Lower Jette Galleries
Part of Colby College’s Bicentennial celebration, the exhibitionHidden Histories: A Project by Maggie Libby reconstructs the history of women at Colby. Libby uses archival information and images to create portraits, biographical texts, altered books, storyboards, and videos that document the contributions of women to the College’s intellectual and social history. The exhibition’s interactive elements include hinged canvases, which can be opened to reveal hidden layers of information and imagery, and a signing wall where Libby invites women to add their names and stories.
