Colby Faculty

Teaching in the Museum

The Colby College Museum of Art invites faculty members to collaborate with museum staff on academic engagements to bring students into our galleries for experiential learning and transdisciplinary dialogue. With more than 10,000 objects in our collection, we are able to support a range of disciplines and accommodate varied curricular needs. Faculty members have access to our permanent collection, special exhibitions, the Landay Teaching Gallery, Davis Art Archives, and Lunder Institute fellows in residence. Museum staff collaborate with faculty to schedule class visits, select objects to suit course content, develop lesson plans and student assignments, and arrange engagements with artists and scholars at the Lunder Institute for American Art

If you are interested in an academic engagement for your course, please contact Jessamine Batario, Linde Family Foundation Curator of Academic Engagement, or Phoebe Zipper, Linde Family Foundation Educator for College Audiences.
