Drawing upon movement, durational practice, institutional critique, and spoken word, artists in “Performing Future Spaces” use performance to explore, illuminate, and challenge museum spaces and histories.
Performances take place in the galleries and public spaces of the Colby College Museum of Art. Artists in this temporary exhibition include Travis Bendler ’26, Chris Campbell ’27, Fiona Chen ’28, Mia Cruz ’26, Nathaniel Ellis ’25, Caroline Jacoby ’26, Sameer Khan ’25, and Sarika Sindhwani ’25. A public reception will follow in the William D. Addams Gallery in the museum lobby.
This program is a part of the class, “Performing the Museum,” taught by professor Gwynn Shanks through the Performance, Theatre, and Dance Department, and is made possible through a collaboration with the Colby College Museum of Art.
