Join us in celebrating the opening of the 2025 Senior Exhibition on Thursday May 8, 5–7 p.m. at the Paul J. Schupf Art Center.
Remarks and awards will begin at 5 p.m. in the lobby before the Joan Dignam Schmaltz Gallery opens to the public. Snacks and refreshments will be provided.
The 2025 Senior Exhibition features the culminating Capstone projects of Studio Art majors who have concentrated in painting, photography, print, sculpture, and digital media during their time at Colby. This year’s contributing seniors are: Emily Alford, Michelle Bechtel, Drew Bennett, Jana Berry, Jamie Fiedorek, Isabel Grimes, Yeon Hong, Zoey LaTour, Ellie Mackle, Fiona Mejico, Aaron Rivera, Eric Seaman, Keon Smart, Hannah Soria, Anna Staton, Grace Yang, and Jenifer Zanabriga.
The exhibition is accompanied by a catalog, available at the reception. Each spring, students in AR356: Contemporary Art Criticism research and write essays about the work of the graduating seniors featured in the annual Senior Exhibition at the Colby College Museum of Art. These essays, along with selected artworks and artist statements produced by the seniors in the studio capstone form the catalog. In addition to offering students valuable professional writing experience, the catalog brings together art historians and studio artists at Colby in a unique collaborative project.
