Each Thursday, join us to spend time with a work of art on view in the Colby College Museum of Art’s galleries. This week, Lisa Wheeler, the Education Manager at Waterville Creates, will facilitate a conversation focusing on Rounding Rosie’s Ring: Dance, You Fools, Dance by Gladys Nilsson in the exhibition Alive & Kicking: Fantastic Installations by Thomas Lanigan-Schmidt, Catalina Schliebener Muñoz, and Gladys Nilsson in the Joan Dignam Schmaltz Gallery in the Schupf Art Center.
Please note that this Art Break is in the Schupf Art Center, not the Campus Museum.
Art Break programs are grounded in the practice of slow looking, an educational approach that asks people to give patient, immersive attention to a work of art as a way to make connections and create meaning for yourself. These looking experiences will be facilitated by museum staff, interns, community collaborators, and special guests.
