The Life Learning community is cordially invited to a special event at the Colby College Museum of Art on George Caleb Bingham’s The Jolly Flatboatmen.
Attendees will consider this painting—which is on view as part of the Terra Foundation for American Art’s Collection in Residence program—in conjunction with objects from the museum’s collection. In advance of the discussion, participants will vote on the works of art to include in a temporary, one-day-only exhibition in the Landay Teaching Gallery. During the program, we will view and discuss the selected artworks with Lunder Curator of American Art Sarah Humphreville.
This event is free, and registration will go live on April 1 at noon. Please register here.
Registered participants will receive an email with directions on how to cast votes for the temporary exhibition. All votes are due May 1.
