One of the first exhibitions to explore Louise Nevelson’s sculptures and works on paper in dialogue with their historical moment, The World Outside: Louise Nevelson at Midcentury showcases the artist’s command of form and her attunement to postwar culture in the United States. It features more than sixty major artworks by Nevelson, including wall works, installations, drawings, and prints. Join Colby Museum Head Curator Beth Finch and Amon Carter Museum of American Art Curator of Paintings, Sculpture, and Works on Paper Shirley Reece-Hughes as the museum prepares to say goodbye to this remarkable exhibition, organized by the Amon Carter Museum of American Art.
There will be two, hour-long tours: one beginning at 2 p.m., and another beginning at 4 p.m. Please register here.
