Colby College Museum of Art

Each Thursday, join us to spend time with a work of art on view in the Colby Museum’s gallery spaces. This week, Anna Jaubert ’25, Engagement Intern at CCMA will facilitate a conversation focusing on a new acquisition Uprooted by Shahzia Sikander, located in the William D. Adams Gallery (Museum Lobby).

Art Break programs are grounded in the practice of slow looking, an educational approach that asks people to give patient, immersive attention to a work of art as a way to make connections and create meaning for yourself. These looking experiences will be facilitated by museum staff, interns, docents, and special guests.

Shahzia Sikander, Uprooted, 2021. Glass mosaic, 72 1/4 x 48 1/8 x 1 1/8 in. (183.5 x 122.2 x 2.9 cm). Art Department and museum purchase from the Jere Abbott Acquisitions Fund, 2023.008.
