Join us to celebrate the opening of our 2023 Senior Exhibition featuring works by graduating Colby studio art majors.
Want to learn how museums create exhibitions and how they get people to come visit them? Get a tour of an exhibition at the Colby College Museum of Art before it opens to the public with some of the people who helped to create it. Afterward, we will learn how museums use social media as a tool for outreach. Participants will work in teams to create social media posts in response to the exhibition that will be posted on the museum’s Instagram account. Pizza and other snacks will be provided. This workshop is intended for youth ages 13–18.
Careers highlighted will include museum curator, communications, public relations, digital marketing.
The program is free, but registration is required here.
