Lower Jetté Gallery, Colby College Museum of Art

Each Thursday, join us to spend time with a work of art on view in the Colby Museum’s gallery spaces. This week, Katya Shevchenko, Engagement Fellow, will facilitate a conversation focusing on Big blue (2) by Andrea Sulzer, located in the Lower Jetté Gallery.

Art Break programs are grounded in the practice of slow looking, an educational approach that asks people to give patient, immersive attention to a work of art as a way to make connections and create meaning for yourself. These looking experiences will be facilitated by museum staff, interns, docents, and special guests.

Andrea Sulzer, Big blue (2), 2015. Oil-based printer’s ink on kozo paper, 49 x 29 in. (124.5 x 73.7 cm). Purchase of the Lindsay Leard Coolidge ’78 Print Acquisition Fund; 2017.436.
