What is it to see a sound? What can it mean to hear color?
Join five young musical artists in their engagement and interrogation of paintings from the abstract visual art worlds of Paul Klee and Wassily Kandinsky, en route to offering their own answers to these questions. Becky Antoine ’23, Christian Krohg ’22, Karl Lackner ’22, Chris Mellen ’23, and Houston Newsome ’22 will present original works of graphic art paired with short compositions for piano.
Presented by the Music Department and Colby College, the Greene Block + Studios, and the Colby Colby College Museum of Art, this pop-up exhibit of vision and sound is the culmination of Seeing/Hearing, a senior seminar taught by Steven Nuss and Gordon Jee.
Reception to follow.
