Fall Open House

Thursday, October 7, 2021,

Colby College Museum of Art

Enjoy an evening of performances, art-making projects, gallery experiences, and refreshments in celebration of three Colby Museum exhibitions—Inside Out: The Prints of Mary Cassatt, Bob Thompson: This House is Mine, and Jacob Lawrence: The Life of Toussaint L’Ouverture.

Join in a variety of art-making activities: Paint and Sip with the Museum Student Advisory Board, printmaking with Lunder Institute fellow Julia Arredondo, self-guided looking activities, and tours of our fall exhibitions, Inside Out: The Prints of Mary Cassatt, Bob Thompson: This House Is Mine, and Jacob Lawrence: The Life of Toussaint L’Ouverture.

Share your stories of living through the COVID-19 pandemic with a writing and drawing activity, part of a campus-wide Fall 2021 initiative that begins at this event and is coordinated by the Colby Museum, the Center for Arts and Humanities, the Buck Lab, and other campus partners. On your own or with a friend, look for works of art that connect with your experiences and feelings, and spend time in conversation and contemplation.

Relax with a variety of savory and sweet refreshments from Bon Appétit.

Enjoy live performances by student bands and a curated jazz playlist from our Colby Student Guide Music Channel on Spotify.

Fun and Games

Pick up a “So Happy to See You” Colby Museum journal for writing and drawing. Spin the wheel to see what art material you will win—mini easels, small canvases, Model Magic, or a watercolor set.
