What is your favorite kind of tail? The library’s summer reading theme is all about tails, so we are creating tails to bring home! We will have giant pieces of cardboard on hand so that you can make a tail your very own size. Special guest artist Rob Dunlavey will attend to help inspire some tails using his illustrations from In the Woods by David Elliot.
The Colby College Museum of Art is joining forces with Waterville Creates and the Waterville Public Library for the 2021 season of Art in the Park. Designed to foster creativity and community among residents and visitors to Waterville, Art in the Park is a free program that takes place at Head of Falls each Thursday during the Farmers’ Market. Program guests will include artists, musicians, live cats, teachers, and scientists.
This summer, we’re inviting attendees to create their own one-of-a-kind summer art journals. Each week, we’ll share new pages to add to the summer art journals, resulting in a fun and distinctive journal that documents the entire summer. As part of the Waterville Library’s free summer reading series, a pre-selected book will be read aloud to participants each week as they construct and design their art journals. Bring a blanket or chair to get comfortable while listening to stories and creating content for your journal.
This program is free and open to all ages and levels of experience. This event will be rescheduled or canceled in the event of rain.
