Art in the Park: Songs & Sounds with Jose Barrionuevo

Join this week’s Art in the Park event at Head of Falls to hear a read-aloud of the book of the week ,Nighttime Symphony by Timbaland. Plus, electronic artist and Lunder Institute residential fellow Jose Barrionuevo ’16 (Killer Bee) will share his work and help attendees create their own musical expression using the songs and sounds around them. Barrionuevo is a 2016 graduate of Colby College who lives in the New York City metro area. This summer, he is working on Sagrada, a new album centered around spirituality and familial relationships in Mexican culture. 

 

About Art in the Park: Designed to foster creativity and community among residents and visitors to Waterville, Art in the Park is a free program that takes place at Head of Falls each Thursday during the Farmers’ Market. Program guests will include artists, musicians, live cats, teachers, and scientists. The summer 2021 program is produced collaboratively by Waterville Creates, the Waterville Public Library, and Colby College Museum of Art and its Lunder Institute for American Art.

About Jose Barrionuevo: Barrionuevo is a 2016 graduate of Colby College who lives in the New York City metro area. As a Lunder Institute for American Art Summer 2021 Resident Fellow based at the Arts Collaborative, he is working on Sagrada, a new album centered around spirituality and familial relationships in Mexican culture.
