Artful Movements: Celebrate Your Unique Self

Saturday, February 15, 2020,

William D. Adams Gallery

Beauford Delaney’s Idyll is an abstract representation of two figures against an urban backdrop. The Cow Face yoga pose is a synthesis of the forms of the two figures within the painting, prompting one to open the chest and stretch the whole body.

Part of Let Art Inspire, the Museum’s wellness initiative, Artful Movements provides an opportunity to practice a series of gentle yoga poses inspired by artworks in the galleries. These free one-hour sessions begin with a deeper look at an artwork, followed by a series of gentle poses and meditation led by Kathleen Leisure Haberstock of School Street Yoga.

All yoga levels, families, and children 7 and older are welcome. A limited number of yoga mats will be available; guests are encouraged to bring their own. Wear comfortable clothing that will allow you to stretch.

All participants will meet in the Williams D. Adams Gallery/Museum lobby.
