2016 Oak Fellow at the Oak Institute for the Study of International Human Rights Khalid Albaih (@khhalidalbaih) is a Sudanese political cartoonist based in Doha, Qatar.
@khhalidalbaih will work with college students during a two-day workshop. Students will learn about Khalid’s cartooning and creative process, and have the opportunity to design their own political poster. With an important election day coming up, this is a great opportunity for students to discuss and share their feelings and thoughts on each candidate, and their visions for the country.
Day 1: @khhalidalbaih will introduce his work and process to participants. Students will work together to draft poster ideas.
Location: Mirken Education Center from 1–3 pm
Day 2: Students will work with graphic artists to design their posters. Posters will be displayed following the workshop.
Location: Bixler Computer Lab from 7–9 pm
Space is limited, preregistration is required. RSVP for workshop by contacting Miriam Valle-Mancilla at [email protected].
