Associate Professor of Art at Longwood University Terri Sabatos is a noted scholar of the 19th-century imagery of death, grief, and mourning. Sabatos will discuss works of mortuary art and posthumous portraits in the exhibition A Usable Past: American Folk Art at the Colby College Museum of Art.
