Join us for a community event with the Bridge, Colby’s queer and allied group, and the Colby Museum of Art to discuss issues of visibility, vulnerability, and representation. Visiting Assistant Professor of Art Mariola Alvarez, Lunder Curator of American Art Beth Finch, and Mirken Postbac Fellow Francisca Moraga López will lead a discussion centered around an interactive piece by Felix Gonzalez-Torres, a Cuban–born, gay, American artist. The discussion will open up for members of the community to speak about their own experiences with visibility and identity, in the hopes of relating this piece back to the Colby experience. A reception will follow.
