Peter Soriano: Permanent Maintenance at the Colby College Museum of Art
The Colby College Museum of Art commissioned artist Peter Soriano to create a major wall drawing for its lobby gallery. Entitled Permanent Maintenance, this new work, which the museum has acquired for its collection, was installed between September 9 and 23, 2015 and the lobby was open to the public to view the work-in-progress. Composed of acrylic and spray paint applied directly to the wall, this monumental, multipart work spans approximately one hundred linear feet divided into three integrally linked sections.
The Colby Museum thanks Peter Soriano and the Permanent Maintenance installation team: Nancy Bixler, Silas Eastman ’17, Alison Grover ’16, Klimentina Jauleska, Karunya Nathan ’16, Terrence O’Connor ’16, Taylor Schlichting ’16, and Francesca Soriano ’16. Additional thanks to Bradley Borthwick, Bevin Engman, and the Colby College Art Department.
